Jubilee Year 2025
Welcome to the Jubilee Year
The Jubilee Year is a special time of grace and mercy, rooted in the Bible (Leviticus 25:10), where God invites us to return to Him, find freedom, and receive forgiveness. This year, San Pablo Chapel in San Pedro, Belize, has been named a Sacred Site for the Jubilee. Whether you’re struggling, seeking peace, or longing to grow closer to God, you’re right where you need to be—come sit with us!

Why San Pable Chapel?
You don’t need to travel far, God’s mercy is right here in San Pedro! San Pablo Chapel is your Sacred Site for the Jubilee, a place where you can find peace, healing and a fresh start for yourself and Grace for the souls of the faithful departed who might be in Purgatory. Come as you are, Jesus is waiting.
What is an Indulgence?
Every sin we commit produces two debts (Luke 15:21):
- AN ETERNAL DEBT – owed to God that separates us from Him and affects our soul forever. Jesus paid this eternal debt for our sins by dying on the cross. This eternal debt is forgiven when we repent and are baptized or go to the sacrament of confession.
- A TEMPORAL DEBT – owed to the person or persons we sinned against. According to Jesus, we are responsible for paying this temporal debt, even if your eternal debt has been forgiven by God (Matthew 5:26).
An indulgence is a gift from God, given through the Church, that wipes away this temporal debt due to sin. It’s like a loving reset—a chance to be fully healed and restored. During this Jubilee Year, you can receive this gift not just for yourself, but also for the souls of the faithful departed who might be in Purgatory. When you obtain a Plenary Indulgence for these souls, they experience the jubilation of entering Heaven. What an amazing gift to offer your beloved deceased by recieving the indulgence for them.
You can sit with Me
You’re a drug addict but came to church on Sunday.... You can sit with me. You’re right where you need to be.
You’re divorced, and the last church you attended condemned you for it.... You can sit with me. You’re right where you need to be.
You’ve had an abortion and it’s slowly eating away at your heart, but you came to church on Sunday.... You can sit with me. You’re right where you need to be.
You’ve been unfaithful to your spouse but came to church on Sunday.... You can sit with me. You’re right where you need to be. Here’s the thing, people don’t come to church on Sunday for you to sit in the pew and quietly judge them because you feel that you’re somehow better than them.
People come to church because in their deepest, darkest, most painful moments, they heard about a man named Jesus who could save their soul and they’d like to know Him.
