Blessings (Sacramentals)
And God blessed them… (Gen 1:22)
Blessings are called "sacramentals" because they prepare us to receive the grace of the sacraments and help us to grow to be more like Christ. Sacramentals are signs instituted by the Church that prepare a person to receive the sacraments.
There are many forms of sacramentals including: Blessings, Holy Water, Salt, Oil, Rosaries, Candles, Crucifixes, Novenas, Scapulars, Miraculous Medals, Paintings, Prayer Cards, etc. All these forms of popular piety can prepare the faithful to have a living encounter with Christ Jesus.

Bless Your Children
“Every baptized person is called to be a blessing, and to bless” (Catechism #1669; 1 Peter 3:9). Jesus himself blessed the children (cf. Mark 10:13-16), and Parents should also bless their children.
Blessings at Meals
Each time we gather around the table to eat, we should bless God and the food He has given us. Download blessings in English, Spanish and Latin.
